To guarantee the security of the customers and their money, Sumeria has put in place numerous security measures at every stage of the application's use. They are designed to ensure that only the owner can access and use a Sumeria account.
Connection to the application
To create a Sumeria account and log into the app, the customer must provide:
- A telephone number issued in one of the eligible countries
- A user name (email address)
- A password
It requires recording a “video selfie” that Sumeria customer service will review in strict confidentiality to make sure that the person attempting to recover the account is the owner.
How to check Sumeria accounts, transfers and payments?
For any action on the app involving your money (check an account, send money, make a bank transfer or pay), the customer will be asked to use his password. The customer can also choose to define and then systematically use a shorter security code instead.
For faster and even more secure transactions, the customer is strongly encouraged to set up a biometric authentication if the phone allows it, such as fingerprint recognition or facial recognition (on the latest phone).
How secure are Sumeria payment methods?
Every Sumeria payment method requires the password/security code or biometric authentication.
- To pay or withdraw money with a card, the customer need to enter the PIN.
- To pay contactless with a phone, specific security measures apply depending on the phone used:
- Apple Pay security for an iPhone
- Google Pay security for an Android phone
- Samsung Pay security for a Samsung phone.
- To pay online with virtual cards, a password/security code or biometric authentication is required to access the payment numbers.
- To send money (making a transfer in the app or paying someone), a password/security code or biometric authentication is required.
- To pay with QR code, a password/security code or biometric authentication is required.
