Virtual and physical cards are compatible with secure mobile payment solutions such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay. Only single-use (ephemeral) cards are not compatible.
The benefits of contactless mobile payment
Unlike contactless card payments, contactless payments made using a phone are not limited in terms of number of payments or amount.
The phone must be unlocked to authorize the transaction. Each contactless mobile payment is subject to strong customer authentication by the device on which the card was added. Accordingly, the customer must authorize it either by facial recognition, fingerprint recognition, or a code.
Enable contactless payment on your phone
Contactless mobile payment works with all smartphones equipped with NFC contactless technology.
To activate contactless payment on their phone, customers must, depending on their mobile brand:
- Set up Apple Pay for iPhone (iOS) mobiles;
- Set up Google Pay for Android mobiles;
- Set up Samsung Pay for Samsung mobiles.
The debit is applied to the account associated with the registered card, under the same terms as a payment made with a physical card. Learn more.
Mobile payments rely on third-party services (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, etc.) and require prior acceptance of their terms of use. Sumeria cannot be held responsible for any malfunction caused by these providers.
Activate mobile payment on a newly ordered card
The customer can also add their card to a mobile payment solution (Apple Pay, Google Pay) directly from those apps. By clicking on 'validate with the app', they will be redirected to Sumeria to authenticate themselves and confirm the addition of their card to this payment method.
