Sumeria offers several tools to help customers better manage their money, plan ahead for future projects, and easily save money with the Sumeria+ program.
Project accounts
Project accounts are a category of Sumeria accounts that allow the customer to organise their money by objective (travel, purchases, leisure, etc.) and track their progress.
This type of account helps customers plan their savings and easily track their progress towards a defined goal.
To open a project account, the customer must go to the “Accounts” tab. They can then assign a name to the account and set a target amount. A progress bar is displayed automatically to help them visualize the advancement of their savings.
The customer can assign an IBAN to their project account to fund it. They can transfer money from one of their Sumeria accounts or make a transfer from an external account.
Rounding up to the nearest euro
Rounding up to the nearest euro allows for automatic accumulation the cents difference between the amount paid for a purchase and the next whole euro. For example, for a purchase of €2.35, €0.65 will be set aside in the reserve account.
The round-up applies automatically to all card payments, whether physical or virtual. It is not possible to exclude certain cards from this feature. The round-up amount is always deducted from the account used for the transaction and cannot be redirected to another account. No round-up is applied if there are insufficient funds.
The collected funds are deposited into the reserve account, which cannot be archived. Amounts set aside through the Sumeria+ tools also earn interest. Learn more.
Activating the Round-Up to the Next Euro
To activate this feature, the customer must go to their Sumeria+ Centre.
At the end of the month, when their monthly savings are allocated, the client will be able to see the total amount saved thanks to the cents set aside from each transaction.
Monthly transfer to the reserve
During signup, customers are asked to implement a recurring transfer. At the date of their choice, customers receive a notification on their application asking them to validate a transfer from one of their Sumeria accounts to their cash reserve. They can change the date and the amount of the recurring transfer at any time from their Sumeria+ centre.
Assisted savings game
Assisted savings games are a great way to save up in a simple and fun way. Customers who enable the games from their in-app Sumeria+ Centre will receive a weekly notification prompting them to play the game.
Saving up earned interest
Sumeria+ customers can choose to have their current account interest sent right to their cash reserve. This can be enabled in the Sumeria+ Centre.
End-of-month recap
Throughout the month, the money saved up thanks to the Sumeria+ tools is accumulated in the Reserve.
At the end of each month, users are invited to allocate part of their Reserve to one or multiple projects accounts. They can also choose to keep a portion in the Reserve as a "security mattress", to cover any unexpected expenses.
