Lydia money pots are accounts associated with an online page where money can be collected via the internet. They are free to create and having the app is not required to contribute to a money pot.

Creating a money pot

Customers can create a money pot from the home screen by clicking on "More accounts" then on "+" and "Lydia money pot" (or by tapping here from a mobile phone).

The customer can then access his money pot by clicking on the “More accounts” from the home screen.

The customer must have had their identity verified before they can start creating money pots.

All money pots accounts created and still open can be accessed from the “More accounts” screen.

Money pot online page

An online page is created and automatically associated with each Lydia money pot to allow contributions from people who don't have the app

It is accessible via a dedicated Internet address (its URL), to anyone who can access the Internet, whether from a computer or a smartphone.

Customize the money pot online page

The online page can be customized to present the purpose of the money pot and encourage visitors to participate.

Sharing a money pot

Customers need to share the address of the online page to the people who wish to contribute.

This URL can be accessed from the web browser on which the page is displayed, or from the app, by clicking on the Share icon on the money pot.

Participate in a money pot

Visitors to the money pot online page can participate, free of charge, in different ways. They don't need to download the Lydia app, nor create a customer account. All they need is a web browser with a link to the money pot, and a means of payment.

They will have to define the amount of their participation and indicate their first and last name (or at least the holder of the means of payment used).

  • by card
It's possible to participate with a debit, credit or prepaid card, whether personal or business.
-> See the list of accepted cards
  • By wire transfer

Perform an instant or standard wire transfer from a banking application to the dedicated money pot IBAN displayed on the page.

Some banks require the name of the owner of the IBAN as well as the BIC. In this case, the participant must enter the first and last name of the money pot creator (which is displayed at the top of the online page) and the following BIC: LYDIFRP2XXX
If the wire transfer is made to the IBAN of a closed money pot, it will automatically be returned to the issuing IBAN.
  • With the app
From a computer, the customer has to click on the “With Lydia” button, then finish on his phone. From a phone, clicking on a money pot link will automatically open the Sumeria app.
  • Participate with Apple Pay (soon)

Tracking money pot contributions

Money pot owners can view all the contributions to the money pot in the app.

The customer can choose to be notified via email for every new contribution.

By activating mobile push notifications, the customer will be automatically notified on his phone of each new participation.

Withdrawing the collected money

The creator has 2 ways of withdrawing the collected money :

Fees and commissions

A 4% commission is applied when the creator withdraws money from the money pot to another account. However, no commission is charged if the money is used to purchase an Amazon gift card.

No fees are applied to participation or to the participants, whatever the means of payment used (except for any fees applied by the issuer of the payment mean).

  • For money pot created with version 13.21 or earlier of the app, a one-off commission of 2.5% applies on credit card participation via the online payment form.

In cases where commissions were applied, an overview of past fees is available in PDF format in the "Fee statements" tab under "Documents".

Closing a money pot

Once the collection is over and the money pot balance is €0, the creator can close the money pot from the app by tapping on "Close this money pot" at the bottom of the money pot page.

From that point on, the online page is no longer accessible, and no further contributions can be made. This action is irreversible.
